Dapplegray is an improvisation trio. Tara, Nava, and Aprille met in Music Improvisation Ensemble I in FALL of 2011 at Mills College, studying under Rachel Condry. With the encouragement of Fred Frith, the trio further developed their own sound and methods. Dapplegray emphasizes on the transition of sound coming from polar opposites. The transition between dreaming and waking life. Unfolding stories, dreams, nightmares, and vandalization of the past.
